The Slugs is about conquering Earth by slimy brain slugs and you as our last hope. You play cute furry hero called Hunter and fighting against brain slugs constantly falling from above to save the planet and beloved Girl. But be aware, when hitting the slug it splits to two and more. Controls are pretty simple: tilt to move and tap to shoot. A few words about weapons and armory. By default you are picking up stones and throw them into enemies. But there are various improvements such as shoot power, power-ups duration, Hunter’s lives and Girl’s lives. Player could have all that stuff buying it for eyes that are dropping when shooting the enemy.
Power-ups should be described a bit more. The player can have additional stones or turn into some creature like Jelly (stones are turned into bouncing balls with high level of elimination), Statue (Hunter becomes immobilized but invulnerable) Devil (total invulnerability) and use a Nuclear explosion that eliminates everything from the screen. Also there are some headgears with different level of defence from the weakest Stetson to the strongest Helmet. Customization of appearance is also available, choose between Regular skin, S.W.A.T., Zombie or Ninja.
The Slugs contains 4 different locations with its own particularity and 160 unique levels. Developers are promising more locations, levels and features to come very soon. The gameplay is really unique, there’s no similar app on the AppStore has been noticed so far. Tutorial is no necessary, because you’ll intuitively understand how to play at the first glance, but explanations appear at the first levels. The Slugs is free and available for download Worldwide from 12, August. The game shows good potential, so check it out and give your opinion about gaming experience.
